'A visit here makes a lasting difference.' CYP is a charitable organisation dedicated to improving the lives of young people. Based in Callander, we offer services to young people across a large area within the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park. In addition to providing a range of activities, we also create employment opportunities through the management of our two social enterprises.
Vision
A sustainable, community-owned asset that provides recreational, social and learning opportunities for children, young people and young adults.
About CYP
Callander Youth Project Trust was established in 1997 and became a Company Limited by Guarantee in 2002.
We have over 20 years of experience delivering services for young people in the local area. Our board is made up of a group of dedicated individuals, who bring together a diverse range of experience from different sectors. This includes backgrounds in hospitality, charity governance, education and youth services. We work closely with various local groups, including McLaren High School, Callander Primary, Stirling Council and the Callander’s Landscape Partnership.
In 2012 we completed the purchase of the old Bridgend Hotel. This building now hosts our office as well as being the site of our social enterprises. Our hostel and functions have allowed us a new avenue for providing employment opportunities to local young people.
Mission Statement
CYP aims to improve the quality of life of young people, aged 9 – 29, in Callander and the surrounding rural area.
This means maximising their potential through access to the best possible recreational and learning facilities, support and resources.
We will do this by:
- Providing employability and training pathways for young people.
- Offering person centred 1-1 and group support.
- Providing high quality activities that broaden skills, knowledge and experiences.
