Tarras Valley Nature Reserve

Tarras Valley Nature Reserve

The Langholm Initiative is a development trust who, in 2021,purchased 5,200 acres of land from Buccleuch estate in the South of Scotland to develop the Tarras Valley Nature reserve (TVNR)– an area of moorland, ancient woodland, peatlands and river valley.

They are currently fundraising to purchase a further 5,300 acres to double the size of the reserve and double its impact.

Besides improving biodiversity and combatting climate change TVNR will, over the next 2 years, be developing volunteer and education activities, providing glamping and visitor facilities including wildlife hides, new trails and viewing platforms.

We look forward to welcoming visitors to Langholm and the reserve! For more information, contact angela@tarrasvalleynaturereserve.co.uk
