The Coorie

The Coorie

‘Coorie’ is a Gaelic word meaning to nestle or snuggle but it’s taken on a different meaning recently. The word has evolved from its origin to a lifestyle trend, the Scottish equivalent of the Danish Hygge, of appreciating Scotland’s beauty and what it has to offer.

The Coorie is a beautiful and modern self catering accommodation unit connected to the Glentrool Hive. Uniquely located in the heart of the Galloway Forest and sleeping up to 5 people, the Coorie is the perfect base from which to explore all that Galloway has to offer.

The Coorie boasts a spacious and bright lounge area which opens on to a private decking area. Our double room contains an ample king size bed, chest of drawers and wardrobe. Our cosy single room has a large chest of drawers and vanity mirror. Added amenities include a double sofa bed in the lounge; an iron and ironing board; hair dryer and cool air fan.

Linen and towels are provided for arrival, extra pillows and bedding, including those for the sofa bed are stored within the bedrooms.

The kitchen is provided with a large fridge freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, electric hob and cooker, washing machine and dining table and chairs.

We can provide a travel cot and highchair on request.

We accept dogs for an additional charge and provide a bed, blankets and dog poo bags, which we respectfully ask you use and dispose of responsibly.

Prices from £85.00 per night.
